PEACE. Yo, what a schnitzel. Audaces fortuna iuvat.
My name is Helge Steinmann (my history) and since 1988 I have been a renowned professional style-defining Graffiti- writing, Aerosol- and Street-artist and designer located in Hofheim am Taunus, between Frankfurt am Main and Wiesbaden in Germany in Europe.
I was never one to follow others and in the early days of German graffiti I gained international acclaim for my illegal artistic performance around Europe.I am still well known for my technique, skills , my speed, my humor and my innovative subversive artistic power to paint with the spraycan. I have been a model for a few generations of graffitiwriting artists. Outside the graffitiwriting art movement I am wel lknown and actively design in public and private sectors; profit and non-profit.
My tag and artist name (tag-signature) is "BOMBER™" and I am representing the art crews FBI™ · GBF™ · TRD · SUK™ · SAA · DBL™ and YCP™. I am also member of the boards AGD – Alliance of German Designers
BDG – Bund Deutscher Grafikdesigner
IO – Illustrator Organisation e.V.
EGU – European Graffiti Union, founded in 1986 in Munich by Prof. Peter Kreutzer. EINWANDFREI e.V. – society for art in public
GRAFFITIGILDE – society of Graffiti Artists
MARKETING CLUB Frankfurt BBK Hessen – society of artists
I've worked both as an artist and a creative director for different companies which specialise in advertising and designing.
” The letters of my artist name BOMBER are my mirror image, which I'm working on. Innovation is my drug. I'll stay true to the roots are part of my work as a graffiti writer. My goal is to display the interaction between letters and space. Graffiti meets architecture, meets everything, meets design. Being an artist, designer and illustrator helps me see a project from a unique angle. My work often involves projects in which art, design and illustration come together. Although relying on my studies and experience, my creative process is driven by spontaneity and intuition. I strongly believe this gives my work a fresh outlook while infusing it with a touch of innocence and playfulness.”
My personal Skills are also: communication design and creative consultancy.
My main skills are in: GRAFFITI ART - STYLEWRITING, DESIGN and ILLUSTRATION, customer relationships, project coordination, conceptioning and curation of exhibitions in the graffitiwriting sector. Why did I choose the name "Bomber™"? When I started my work in Aerosol art / Graffitiwriting in 1988, I was in Paris, France, and I saw a lot of tags (signatures) everywhere made by a Graffiti artist / writer called "Boxer". I was looking for a name which sounded similar and I found "Bomber™". Later, somebody told me that the meaning of the word bomber means to paint a lot of graffiti: the name was destined for me. There is no political or sociological intent in this definition.

“The original idea behind graffiti-writing is to present one’s own idea of writing to the public as an exhibit.
Rid of its one- and two-dimensional constraints, rid of its need to serve a purpose, competing only on style, the graffiti writing artist manages to deliver writing of its need to conform to rules. He positions it in its own right between people from all walks of life.
On the one hand he uses his writing as a deliberate and abstract, intrinsically political and humanistic response to the intentional penetration by advertising and the media. On the other hand, graffiti writing is often an individual outcry against an inhuman architecture. A kind of archaic rediscovery of public spaces as creative objects has helped establish the link with the origins of human togetherness.”
