Street Branding

Use the public space!

This is a word that as a graffiti artist and style writer I naturally understood from the beginning:

Street branding is lifestyle and can also be implemented with light, fire or adhesive tape and as so-called reverse graffiti or scratch graffiti. The latter is painting / design created by stenciled or freehand partial cleaning and cleaning and has a very high attention factor due to its surprising effect.

For an agency in Frankfurt, we were allowed to create absolute graffiti (CANTWO, ATOM and myself) in 2007 in the still closed underground station Bundestag in Berlin for Wrigley’s Airwaves to decorate a free runner / traceur course.

On site and before the actual event, we got to know the crew around David Belle, “Yamakasi” from Paris, who knew FBI Fabulous Bomb Inability and Darco especially well, since they sometimes sprayed themselves. Mathieu Kassovitz (The Fifth Element / The Fabulous World of Amelie / La hain) later opened the event.

On May 27, 2012 I applied / sprayed the floor markings for the runway (on the gray velvet carpet floor on the ramp) for Red Bull for the Red Bull Flugtag in Mainz at the customs port. A very unusual sign painting job for me because it wasn’t really creative. Despite everything, it took me a total of nine hours to mark the 60-meter-long run with markings, a number 30 and a zebra crossing.

In 1996, the city of Neuss commissioned two spray artist friends and me to spray various 18/1 large billboard areas at particularly attractive locations in the city on the subject of traffic safety.

The PR and advertising agency Oliver Beckmann GmbH supervised the Mac World Expo in 1994 (yes, yes, at that time the Apple logo was still colorful!) In Frankfurt and commissioned me with the design / spraying of three large 18/1 billboards at the exhibition center / Friedrich Ebert plant in Frankfurt.
